Stay informed on registry development, engagement sessions, and upcoming implementation milestones.

Who is FNLGR?

The First Nation Land Governance Registry (FNLGR) is a national registry system governed and operated by First Nations under the Framework Agreement on First Nation Land Management Act (FAFNLMA).

FNLGR has been developed as a modern alternative to federal registry systems, including the First Nations Land Register (FNLRS) and Self-Government First Nations Land Register (SGFNLRS).

The registry provides a secure and structured framework for registering interests in First Nation lands, supporting:

  • clear evidence of interests in land

  • standardized registration processes

  • consistency in registry operations

  • long-term reliability of land records

FNLGR supports First Nation jurisdiction over land governance and contributes to strong, transparent, and effective land administration systems.

Why FNLGR Matters

FNLGR strengthens land governance by providing:

  • clarity and reliability of registered interests

  • a secure and dependable registry framework

  • consistent and transparent registration processes

  • operational efficiency for land administration

  • support for economic development and investment certainty

  • alignment with modern governance practices

By modernizing land registration infrastructure, FNLGR supports accountability, transparency, and long-term sustainability in First Nation land governance.
